MISSING POET AHMAD FARHAD SHAH CASE: WILL THE COUNTRY BE RUN BY SPY AGENCIES

Federal Law Minister Nazir Tarar on Monday said that he was surprised by the comments of the Islamabad High Court in the Ahmad Farhad kidnapping case and that it seemed that the court had exceeded its authority.

He added that everyone including politicians and judges should show tolerance.

The Law Minister said that judges should perform their duties and adhere to their code of conduct.

People involved in enforced disappearances: Justice Kayani said there should be legislation to impose the death penalty.

The minister said that there are cases of missing persons like Ahmad Farhad in every country.

Regarding poet Ahmed Farhad, Tarr said the Islamabad High Court is currently hearing the case, as the media expressed concern over sensationalizing the story.

According to Tarar, the government, legislature and judiciary each have separate duties in a clear separation of powers in Pakistan.

Earlier, Islamabad High Court (IHC) judge Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani had said that there should be legislation to give the death penalty to those involved in enforced disappearances.

Justice Kayani made these remarks while hearing the petition of missing poet Ahmed Farhad’s wife for her husband’s recovery.

During the hearing, the judge said that people are going missing who talk more about missing persons, adding that the poet was singled out for talking about missing persons and it is shameful because everyone knows who and what. doing.

He also said that the Home Secretary and Defense Secretary are responsible for enforced disappearances.

He further said that if necessary, he will summon the Prime Minister and if action is not taken against the kidnappers, they will be sent packing. He said that I told the IG that if anyone goes missing, the responsibility will be on them.
